MILAN, Jun 25, 2003 /FW/ --- It was a double show for the Roman designer Valentino last Monday, Jun 23
in Milan.
The new young R.E.D line was followed by the more luxurious and exclusive Valentino main collection.
A combination of double breasted blazers, navy and white elegance of the stylish yatchsman
who hasn't lost control of his sensuality is the Valentino man for spring summer 2004.
With slight military hints, light silk trenches and super thin cashmere pullovers, shorts, crisp
shirts and vests.
Caftans which are batik-trimmed, are worn over the traditional shirt and even under blazers to
give an easy going, beach feel.
Details make the difference for Valentino. Small buckles hold bush-jacket pockets together,
and accessories include two tone lage bags and shoes, hollywood style sunglasses in turtoise
shell while jackets are belted at the waist under pockets.
Evening wear is slick in black satin trousers, jackets or overcoats teamed with crisp white shirts,
ties are undone or non existant, except for the bow tie in true sophistication, and instead
placed laziliy around the neck in a foulard fashion.
The playboy Valentino that his fans have grown to love came through in the final outfit,
a stiff satin cream tuxedo.
