PARIS, Feb 27, 2006/ FW/ --- A masked face, tiny waists, shoulders that are sometimes bare, at times covered with a tiny puff sleeve. It’s a woman behind a mask – mysterious and seductive.
The Dutch design duo known for their conceptual approach to fashion proposed being mystifying for Fall 2006, when covering up is the ultimate weapon of the seductress and what is hidden underneath makes her very sexy.
Volume and layering resulted to puff skirts that looked like they were being held up with a bustle or the old petticoat. Bodices were bodice hugging; ending like a bustier or tube-top with ruffles. And that’s for evening.
For daywear, the business suit was retrofitted and restyled with woven fabric bibs, baby collars, or a simple standing collar adorned with a silver bow.
The trench coat came in multiple variants – with puff skirts, double-breasted with a slim silhouette, the drama on the sleeves held loosely by straps to create multiple puff sleeves.
The traveling coat became micro fiber filled with down, closed by a bow and sporting a turtleneck collar while the fur coat was again created with multiple puff sleeves.
And for Fall 2006, Viktor & Rolf suggests wearing fishnets as hose, either in black, beige or silver. No bare legs please.
The shoes are part of the seduction arsenal. Stacked heels to sandals embellished with stiff flowers.
Though this will sound like a cliché, this seduction will bring you the marriage altar. Viktor & Rolf’s bride is golden. Wearing puff skirts (this time, there really has to be a petticoat under it) sheered and made of tiny accordion pleats, her tube top done in diagonal pleats, she looks resplendent with her golden bouquet.
