PARIS, Jan 31, 2006/ FW/ --- Showing off off calendar, iconoclastic design duo Viktor & Rolf graced the Paris Menswear season with their Fall 2006 men’s collection that built on the success of their perfume ‘Flower Bomb’ and their critically acclaimed womenswear collections.
With models looking like clones of the Dutch design duo, the looks were relaxed and comfortable, and most important of all, very wearable.
The ‘grenade’ was front and center for the prints while trellis were also seen on knitted vests and the sportive sweatshirt.
Tuxedo shirts with ruffles on the placket while the basic white shirt were embellished with tiny ruffles also, but this time, they run like a trellis.
Staying on a neutral color palette most of the time, Viktor and Rolf added color by using baby blue and old rose with bright red reserved for the sweatshirt.
Collars for trench coats and bomber jackets were wide and upturned, a natural take from their very successful womenswear line.
Hopefully, with the expansion of the Paris menswear calendar, Viktor & Rolf who usually preview their menswear line at Pitti Uomo will decide to show on calendar next season.
