PARIS, Jan 26, 2003/ FW/ --- Wooyoungmi was first up on Sunday morning, and she presented a fine show in the Carousel du Louvre. This season, the Korean designer went for a vaguely military look, using enough gray flannel that the look began to resemble my great grandfather's Civil war era uniform.
After the show, Wooyoungmi explained "I was trying for a military look, but delicate."
And that she accomplished by attaching lustrous mother of pearl medallions to suits, jackets and even belts. From time to time, ribbon was applied to trousers and coattails, and even glazed leather ornaments found there way onto overcoats.
There was a fresh, clean look to finely cut jackets, while sweaters molded the torso of the chiseled models she selected.
For a change of style, there were sleeveless black silk shirts, and fur-lined parkas hearty enough to stand up to Antarctic cold.
While charcoal and black were predominant colors, olive and khaki were also used extensively.
It was not only a good collection, but also a wonderful way to start a Sunday morning.
