PARIS, Jul 3, 2002/ FW/ --- Tuesday was the final day of men's fashion week, and the day
that new talent is generally highlighted.
Paris has always been a city where talent gets a break, and unlike New York, the key to
success is not necessarily who you know on the front row.
The morning began with a collection by Wooyoungmi, a Korean woman who presented a men's line
in Paris.
Her style is fresh and innovative, with special emphasis on textures and subtle finishes.
She made considerable use of leather engraved with Asian calligraphy, and it appeared on
belts, epaulets and even as trimming on the ankles of two toned jeans.
Beads also popped up here and there as understated ornaments.
There were also some interesting sleeveless waistcoats, a white satin side-buttoning vest,
as well as nice accessory bags.
Wooyoungmi worked mostly in white, gray, brown and beige.
The effect was cool, and relaxed, just the right choice for a hot summer day.
