Wooyoungmi Menswear Spring 2006: Romantically Modern
Paris Menswear Show Spring 2006
By Michelle Taylor
PARIS, Jul 5, 2005/ FW/ – Wooyoungmi remains romantically modern and helps redefine the contemporary menswear wardrobe by reconstructing new masculinity.
It is alright for men to wear lemon, soft knits and pageboy Bermuda shorts while high waisted trousers with a single pleat taper at the ankle, and sportscoats become the new choice over usual jerseys and t-shirts.
Sartorial attention meets comfort head on as classic elements like lapels usually reserved for tuxedos are applied to more casual jackets and pleated shirt fronts are worn without the strict black tie rule.
Wooyoungmi has fun with shapes as she cuts, stitches and deconstructs. Fronts and backs of jackets lengths differ while their pockets over hang and fall longer. Trouser pockets are turned sideways with button closures while latches appear on pant cuffs to regulate lengths.
This spring summer 2006 menswear collection full of hidden detail and delicacies modernizes the look and feel of a traditional wardrobe and moves with the changing times and desires men are now looking for.
