Zucca: Cool North Wind

PARIS, Mar 9, 2003/ FW/ --- Winter at Zucca features a frosty collection in silver and gray. Akira Onozuka sent out a fresh, youthful line to a sound track of howling wind. The teenage models, male and female, walked down a long white runway divided in two by a strand of silver sand.
Girls wore mesh jackets ornamented by necklaces strung of netting. Aluminum miniskirts were paired with matching cagoules, while streamers of black and silver fell from tops and cardigans.
For the guys, military cagoules had the look of "special operation forces"; though the magenta net shirts and silver combat boots seemed more appropriate for those soldiers who do most of their maneuvering in clubs.
In general, the girls side of the collection was more adventurous with charcoal quilted tops, high gloves worn over the elbows, and black lattice appliqué dresses. If some of the body wrap pieces got a little carried away, that peccadillo did not distract from an otherwise solid collection.
Onozuka makes simple casual wear look artsy, and that's a recipe that spells success for Zucca, even in uncertain times.
