YSL Beaute Secures Alexander McQueen Perfume License

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Jun 13, 2001/ --- Gucci Group N.V. announces today that YSL Beaute, the Group's fragrances and cosmetics division, has secured a 10 year license to develop, manufacture and distribute worldwide perfumes and cosmetics for the Alexander McQueen brand.

Alexander McQueen and YSL Beaute will start to work immediately on the creative and industrial aspects of the first women's fragrance, due to be launched in the spring of 2003.

This license adds to YSL Beaute's portfolio of leading luxury perfume brands, which includes the Yves Saint Laurent and Roger & Gallet brands, as well as licenses for Oscar de la Renta, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Fendi. In fiscal year 2000, YSL Beaute achieved revenues of $536 million and an operating margin before trademark and goodwill amortization of 8% (+ 33% compared to 1999), at US$43.1 million.
