Online Sales to Surpass $200 Billion This Year, According to Shop.org/Forrester Study
WASHINGTON, DC, May 23, 2006 / --- After speeding past the $100-billion mark just three years ago, online sales will top $200 billion this year. According to The 2006 State of Retailing Online, the ninth annual Shop.org study conducted by Forrester Research, Inc. (of 174 retailers, 2006 online sales (including travel) are expected to rise 20 percent to $211.4 billion. Sales excluding travel will reach $138 billion.

New NRF Survey Finds Consumers Adjusting To Higher Prices At The Pump
WASHINGTON, DC, May 19, 2006 / --- While consumers have seemed resilient in the face of higher energy costs, a tipping point may soon be in sight. According to the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 2006 Gas Prices Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, 76.0% of consumers believe fluctuating gas prices have impacted their spending habits, up from 67.2% in 2005.
