NRF WASHINGTON, DC, Aug 14, 2006 / --- In today’s electronically connected world, a different type of generation leads the pack--the type that spends more time with the Internet than they do the television. At Shop.org’s Annual Summit this October, Resource Interactive President and Chief Experience Officer Kelly Mooney will present ‘The Digital Millennials: RU Ready,’ which will focus on the direct impact this generation will have on interactive marketing and e-commerce.

Mooney is co-author of The Ten Demandments, the customer-centric business model used to align a company’s sales, marketing and online presence, and is considered an authority on consumer insights. She will address more than 2000 Internet and multichannel retail executives on Wednesday, October 11, at 8:30 a.m.

“As Gen Y begins its leap into our workforce, online retailers need to understand the underlying motivations of this group to effectively market to them,” said Shop.org Executive Director Scott Silverman. “We are very eager for Kelly Mooney to unveil her research on the ‘digital millennials,’ a segment that has become so prevalent in today’s online retail industry.”

The Shop.org Annual Summit is the premier gathering of Internet and multichannel leaders. The Summit, which will be held October 10-12 at the Hilton New York, is designed as an interactive forum for Shop.org members and guests to gather for networking, strategizing, fact-finding and education in a non-commercial atmosphere.

Shop.org is the network for retailers online. It’s where the best retail minds come together to gain the insight, knowledge, and intelligence to make smarter, more informed decisions in the evolving world of the Internet and multichannel retailing.

Founded in 1996, Shop.org became a division of the National Retail Federation in January 2001. The association’s membership includes interactive executives from store-based retailers, catalog-based retailers, Web-based retailers, and retail solution providers.
