Gucci Names Andrea Barbier CEO of YSL Beauté and Chantal Roos as Strategic Advisor
MILAN, Apr 3, 2007, 2007/ --- Gucci Group is moving their executives around. Yesterday, the Italian fashion house announced that Chantal Roos has been named Strategic Advisor to Gucci Group for Fragrance and Cosmetics Industry and Andrea Barbier is going to be the President and Chief Executive Officer of YSL Beauté, succeeding to the position left vacant by Ms Roos’s appointment. The appointments will be effective as of 2nd May.
In her new position, Chantal Roos will be responsible for giving strategic advice on the development opportunities for Gucci Group and its brands in the worldwide fragrances and cosmetics market. She will report directly to Robert Polet, President and CEO of Gucci Group.
Andrea Barbier was formerly General Manager of the Latin American “Produits Grand Public” division at L’Oréal. As President and CEO of YSL Beauté, he will report directly to Robert Polet.
Commenting on this announcement, Robert Polet, CEO of Gucci Group, said, “Chantal has transformed YSL Beauté and returned it to profitability and growth. She leaves a healthy and vibrant business for Andrea to inherit.”
