LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2007 / FW/ --- Screen legend and Broadway star Lauren Bacall is the latest celebrity to enter the fashion arena with the launch of her signature jewelry line in collaboration with Weinman Bros.

Announced Tuesday by Robert Weinman, President of Weinman Bros. Inc., the fine jewelry collection will be named simply Bacall and created in a variety of gems and price points. All items will be available at select retailers this fall.

“I've always loved the thought of jewelry as art and there is nothing like the feeling of wearing something beautiful. This collection represents a great opportunity for every woman to own a piece of artistic fine jewelry at an affordable price,” commented Ms. Bacall about her new signature jewelry line.

One of the few Hollywood stars who made a seamless transition from film to stage, Lauren Bacall became a household name in 1944 when she starred opposite Humprey Bogart in ‘To Have and to Have Not.’

In 1970she made a triumphant Broadway debut as Margo Channing in “Applause!” a musical comedy based on the film All About Eve, winning her first Tony award before embarking on a year long national tour.

In 1980, Ms. Bacall received the National Book Award for her autobiography, By Myself. She was named one of the American Film Institute's top 25 film legends of the century.
