DALLAS, May 21, 2007/ --- During the 29th International Furniture Expo in Milan, Giancarlo Di Risio, CEO of Versace said, ‘I believe that today, lifestyle is important. It is no longer [just] expressed with handbags or shoes. You express this with your travels, with your car or helicopter [or private plane]. You express it in 360 degrees.’
And Versace is truly expressing it 360 degrees. Today in Geneva, Gianni Versace S.p.A, in collaboration with TAG Aircraft Interiors Limited (TAG-AI) announced that they have secured their first interior design project for an Airbus A319 Corporate Jet (ACJ), one of the largest private aircrafts available. The aircraft will go into service in the fourth quarter of 2008.
When the collaboration between Versace and TAG Group was announced last April, the two companies made history. It was a first in the aviation industry, a fashion house partnering with an aircraft specialist.
The first ‘concept interiors’ developed by Versace Home Collection for TAG Aviation was unveiled in July 2006 during the Farnborough International Air Show. And today, history was again made Versace and TAG-AI will personalize an Airbus A319 Corporate Jet (ACJ), one of the largest private aircrafts available. The aircraft will go into service in the fourth quarter of 2008.
The European client’s ACJ will have 16 seats in an exclusive four-compartment arrangement: salon, galley, business office, and stateroom with ensuite bathroom.
Versace will provide the aircraft interior with a unique design customized to the aircraft’s specifications and floor plan. It will feature executive armchairs embossed with Versace’s signature Greek fret motif, furniture made of the best materials, and exclusive finishes and luxury detailing spanning the four cabins of the aircraft.
“Versace’s Home Collection team, along with our partners at TAG Aircraft Interiors, will be responsible for the design and implementation of this interior contract. Versace continues to represent Italian excellence and luxury not only within the fashion industry, but also in every sector of exclusive design. This large private jet interior reflects, in its every detail, the excellence and luxury of the Versace brand,” said Giancarlo Di Risio in a statement.
