GUAM, Jan 31, 1998/ FW/ --- Nicknamed "The Windy City," Chicago is the home to some of the finest shopping in the country. The newly renovated State Street features old-style street lights and two major department stores operating in their original buildings.
At the corner of State and Randolph sits the grande dame of American department stores. The 11 story 450 department, Marshall Field store boasts a glorious Tiffany dome and recently completed $110 million renovation.
Chicago's world-famous Michigan Avenue features Nike Town, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's and more.
Young and Vibrant (Jun 28, 1997)
Three sculptured head mannequins and two screens make up this window. Geared towards a young market, the use of bright colors is designed to attract the eyes of passers by. The screens are lighted from the inside or behind, giving a soft neon light glow. Two mannequins in front and one hiding behind the screen gives it that impish atmosphere, almost childlike in a sense. Bright colors is the main element of this window and is used to its fullest.

This window is a good example of less is more. Three realistic mannequins and colored lights make up this store front window. Simple yet eyecatching. The power of 3, an element of design that is used most of the time. Three mannequins interacting with each other wearing clothes that are different yet comes from the same collection. The lights in bright colors, distributed in odd numbers, another visual merchandising trick wherein elements are usually in odd numbers.
Fall (Sep 7, 1997)
The rich colors of fall dominate this traditional fall window. Rich in gold and orange, autumn leaves, the birch tree. Tradition lives on.
Christmas (Nov 30, 1997)
Realistic mannequins dominate these Christmas store windows showing mostly fashion items.
