Store Window DALLAS, Jun 7, 1999/ FW/ --- Inspired by Milan, Italy’s famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele built in 1867, Galleria Dallas is truly a unique urban marketplace. More than 200 of the most celebrated shops from around the world along with delectable restaurants and eateries surround an impressive ice rink. A genuine Dallas experience – world-class shopping at its best!

The Dallas Galleria is a favorite destination for tourists, out-of-towners and Dallasites in North Texas. Conveniently located at the 635 Loop in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (it even has its own freeway exit), the Dallas Galleria attracts millions of shoppers each year.

  • Antiques

  • Technically, this is a display inside a vitrine. Located at the high traffic areas of the Galleria, the vitrines give a sampling of the stores and their merchandise to the passers by. Sometimes, that is all it takes to catch the attention of a customer. Use something that is attractive and part of their everyday life.

  • The Dog Company

  • Lots of lessons to learn from this display. First is repeatition. The slightly bigger than life artwork of a Dalmatian on the wall, repeated by the lifesize replica of a Dalmatian on the floor. The vinyl sign on the glass tells you that they are a pet store and where they are located in the mall. Pet stores are not glamorous by any chance, but this display surely catches your attention.

  • Shoes and Handbag

  • Brass doodads shaped like birds and flowers, and monoliths that served as backgrounds have been painted with clouds, a window cut out to show off the merchandise.

  • The Custom Shop

  • Talk about effective use of space. This window is odd-shaped, almost a triangle. The solution was use a table the same shape as the window and there was enough white space left to make it look roomy. The arrangement of the display is also very attractive - a form, a poster and a stack of clothes.

  • Mondo

  • Another men's shop window suggesting Spring in a very subtle way. Notice the gardening tools, added subtly, a flower pot with an unopened bag of garden soil. Ready for Spring?

  • Tumi Luggage

  • Luggage anyone? When did luggage become fashionable? During the Cruise Season and Summer! It is hard to display luggage, but this window made it look it it a must have. The form still dressed in winter clothes, ready to go somewhere to get some sunshine. It makes you feel like going too.

  • Structure

  • Structure is a national retailer which caters to a youthful audience. Their windows are usually the same all over the country. Here is the Structure Window at the Dallas Galleria. National retailers usually opt for the same window in all their stores and outlets. The reason is for brand recognition.

  • Louis Vuitton

  • Signature Louis Vuitton bags is the focal point of this window. Effective use of colors!

  • Armani Exchange

  • Simple yet elegant. The use of 2 x 4 wood is ingenious. A whole outfit is hung using a hanger. The spiraling 2 X 4 wood is used as both the background and prop.

  • Brooks Brothers

  • Establishment, that is the theme of this window. Four forms, 2 pedestals, white walls emulating the room of a house. Very conservative and yet very focused. When a store has established its reputation, sometimes it is good to play on that feeling of trust of confidence that it has given its customers. Not flashy, just a statement saying, "We have been serving you for a long time and we will continue to serve you."

  • Harold's

  • Sprigs of spring flowers are used as neck blocks provide a touch of spring and makes this display dramatic. The display is made memorable by the flowers.
