Highland Park Village

Store Window DALLAS, Jul 15, 1999/ FW/ --- Highland Park Village is the first ever "modern shopping center" established in the whole U.S. as listed in the National Historic Register.

The current design of today's shopping centers started in this very elite and exclusive area in the center of Dallas. Established in 1910, Highland Park was the first "suburb" of Dallas, being just the fringes of downtown.

Today, Highland Park, is part of the urban center as the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex grew in land area and population.
