Store Window DALLAS, Mar 14, 1999/ FW/ --- While the Dallas Galleria is a favorite destination for tourists and out-of-towners, North Park remains the 'home' mall. Though there are some "tourists" who shop there, it is truly the local residents that make this mall one of the most profitable in the area.

  • Baby Gap

  • Playful presentation of leg forms. Almost no props except for the Baby Gap logo which is a need for brand recognition. Gap Windows have a strict parameter which comes from corporate offices and this is one way of staying within the parameters and still be playful.

  • Structure

  • Black forms, dramatic lighting and techno fashion! Stark background, no props, just 4 forms grouped together in a window! The drama is in the lighting.

  • Marionette

  • Black background, no props, one marionette and dramatic lighting! The light only shows one side of the marionette adding mystery to it, inviting you to see the show!

  • Victoria's Secret

  • Although not a carbon copy of their print advertising, the use of bigger than life photograph of what appears in their catalog and print ads use the idea of brand recognition. The forms and the product become secondary because the customer already what they want when they go inside the store. If they pick up more than one item, then it is an added bonus.

  • Burberry

  • Three mannequins, almost bare background, the secret of this window is mannequin interaction and lighting.

  • Joan Helpern

  • Lighting - this simple window depends on it to be successful. Simple and straight forward, the lighting in the window makes it dramatic, highlighting only the outfit and the shoes. Notice the three steel rods with ball finials. They grow outward the wall and meet to be used as the hook for the hanger. Ingenious engineering.

  • Liz Claiborne

  • The Basics Window - straight forward and no fuss. Two forms, a banner and just the clothes. The fixtures used were from ALU using their autopoles and banner holders and of course, the famous superclamps. Where will you be without it?

  • Michael Dawkins

  • Neck and miniature forms together with pedestals gave the window height and depth. White as the predominant color showed the jewelry very well. Four pedestals pulled together plus a solo towards the right highlighted the announcement of the appearance of the artist. Elegant window!
