SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 8, 2000/FW/ --- Traditionally, the Bally brand is known for their men's shoes. Like most fashion houses, the company has diversified. Today, it now offers a full fashion line from women's clothes and accessories, to men's clothing and accessories.
A Man's Winter Closet
Black background ( made of black plexiglass) and a black divider. The window was made to look like a man's closet. A form on the "tall side"(usually used for hanging clothes in a closet) shows off the clohtes, while the "short side" (usually used for accessories and folded clothes) show off the men's leather accessories. When creating a store window, use a design which is familiar to the customer. It will help to tell the story.
A Woman's Winter Closet
This time we are looking at a women's closet. The clothes are now hanging, facing the street of course, and not sideways. The short side of the closet still house the fashion accessories (very similar to the presentation of the men's window.) Black background and white pedestals were used as the elements of this window.
Accessories Closet
The women's accessories windows has the same look and feel as the men's window. The hanger is more obvious here, hanging from the ceiling The same background and three pedestals were used as prop. A purse and shoes were displayed.
Women's Accessories
There are almost no props in this window, except for the background which was actually two panels behind each other. Rectangles and squares were used to give the feeling of being "airy" and also to show off the merchandise in different levels. Both front and back panels were lighted to achieve depth.
Clothes
Two headless mannequins and a monolith as a background. The monolith and the floor were covered with the same wood veneer, hence there is continuity. No other props were used. A small sale sign is placed at the bottom to announce that the merchandise was at a reduced price.
Men's Accessories [Jul 2000] (top left photo)
Of course there has to be a men's accessories windows! And the feature is "Bally Shoes!" As long as I can remember, Bally shoes for men has always been a status symbol for the male population. Brown plexi-glass were attached to the monolith and are now being used to display the merchandise.
