NEW YORK, Dec 1, 2000/FW/ --- From restaurants, to salons and of course the fabulous stores - you can spend the whole day at Madison Avenue and do not even feel it until your feet tell you that they need some rest.
Sonia Rykiel (www.soniarykiel.com)
Location: 851 Madison Avenue (at 70th Street), New York, NY 10021, Tel: (212)396-3060
Not necessarily a Christmas window. This is part of the advertising campaign for Sonia Rykiel's new fragrance, the Rykiel Rose. A neon pink boa was used to denote a rose! Inventive.
Vera Wang (www.verawang.com)
Location: 991 Madison Avenue (at 77th Street), New York, NY 10021, Tel: (212)628-3400 Fax: (212) 628-4410
This is Vera Wang, and as expected, a beautiful wedding dress is shown at the window. Vera Wang is considered one of the most influential designers of luxurious wedding dresses. A headless Pucci mannequin, plus two Christmas trees partly hidden from the window make up this whole display.
Cerruti (www.cerruti.com)
Location: 789 Madison Avenue (at 67th Street), New York, NY 10021, Tel: (212)327-2222
A monolith of Christmas balls! It's made of white plexi so that it can be lit. It gives a soft glow and emphasizes the balls to herald the holiday season. In the center is a shoe, and it is the center of attraction. A pair of headless mannequins standing on the each side of the monolith completes the presentation.
DKNY (www.dkny.com)
Location: 655 Madison Avenue (at 60th Street), New York, NY 10022, Tel: (212)223-3569
This is the DKNY storefront lit with neon lights for Christmas. Three flourescent neon tubes were shaped into a triangle to signify a Christmas tree. Mannequins (abstract and otherwise, were used to display the clothes.
Enrique Martinez
Location: 758 Madison Avenue (at 63rd Street), New York, NY 10021, Tel: (212)734-5776
A photo mural! A woman in a red dress with a banner that echoes the print on her dress signify Christmas. A Christmas floral arrangement sits on stand. This is part of Enrique Martinez's advertising campaign, echoed in their store window. Again, you can use your store windows for brand spiraling.
Kenzo (www.kenzo.com)
Location: 805 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022, Tel: (212)717-0101
Teepe or Christmas tree? Actually it does not matter. Whatever it is, this window is simply gorgeous! The half teepees have shelves which were used to display leather goods. Two forms at the side to display clothing. The background is dull gold so that it will not take away from the merchandise.
Liz Lange (www.lizlange.com)
Location: 958 Madison Avenue (between 75th & 76th Streets), New York, NY 10021, Tel: (212)879-2191
Lifesize replica of a golden horse! How did they do that? Pedestals in front show the merchandise, and again, those beautiful hanging lamps.
Dolce & Gabbana
Location: 825 Madison Avenue (at 68th Street), New York, NY 10021, Tel: (212)249-4100
How cute! Two pregnant Pucci mannequins grace the store window. But what do you expect? Liz Lange is a maternity clothing retailer! Red outfit for Christmas and the adorable Christmas tree!
