Spiegel Zooms For Enhanced Customer Service
Redesigned Spiegel Website Is Faster to Download an Easier to Navigate

DALLAS, Oct 30, 2001/ FW / --- Spiegel, leading direct marketer announced this month that their online sales have increased 27%. With their redesigned website, they expect a continued growth on their online presence and sales.

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Spiegel unveiled their newly redesigned website, spiegel.comwhich features RichFX ZoomFX™ technology, streaming video and an interactive fashion quiz; meanwhile, loading times per page are faster by 30 to 50 percent.

"In the industry, sales typically drop after a retail Web site redesign," said Richard Burke, divisional vice president of e-commerce for Spiegel on a release from Spiegel.

"We've seen the opposite. Not only has spiegel.com seen an increase in sales and a reduction in shopping cart abandonment, but our search function has been used less and less, showing us that our customers can navigate the site easily and find what they need immediately."

Using results from a market study on how Internet shoppers navigated retail sites, Spiegel redesigned spiegel.com to enhance online customer service, seamless checkout process and an overall better shopping experience.

New features of the website includes the ZoomFX™ Technology where a customer can click an itme and the item grows on the screen a smooth, elegant movement, unti shoppers can view the close-up detail of the merchandise.

Answering to the customers need for credible content, Spiegel also created an Interactive Fashion quiz that helps customer determine their style. They also created the Runway To Your Way section where Spiegel.com takes the latest looks from teh runway and reinterprets those looks with Spiegel merchandise.

For the Christmas season, they are also adding Holiday Webcast featuring streaming video from entertaining to home decorating. And if you are a believer, there is the Spiegel Horoscopes. If not, then you can read it just for fun.

Spiegel also unveiled their Electronic Gift Certificates. Last-minute shoppers will love sending Electronic Gift Certificates from spiegel.com -- they promise to arrive in the recipient's e-mail inbox within 24 hours.

Spiegel continues to listen to customer feedback to improve the speed and functionality of spiegel.com, as well as make the entire online shopping experience more efficient and fun. The site also includes rich content pages, providing customers with articles on topics such as home and apparel fashion trends.
