Nov 12, 2003/ FW/ --- Allstate Insurance Company is taking a stand on behalf of its customers in a new
national advertising campaign launching today. The new "Our Stand" campaign,
featuring actor Dennis Haysbert, takes a strong stand for consumers' interests
by delivering a simple, straightforward message that highlights the many
benefits of having insurance protection from Allstate.
"I am very excited about this campaign which breaks new ground in the
insurance category and emphasizes Allstate as a leader in meeting consumer
needs," said Jill Weaver, Allstate vice president, brand strategy and marketing
communication.
"At Allstate, we have always been about helping to take care of our customers
and putting them in Good Hands. Some other companies have tried to change that
conversation by telling people that insurance is just about a low price. We want
to bring the conversation back to what really matters to people.
"By taking a stand, Allstate asks consumers at the end of each spot, 'Are you
in Good Hands®?' This simple line encourages people to consider Allstate and the
qualities that are truly important when considering an insurance company, like
the importance of dignity, understanding and respect throughout the entire
experience," Weaver said.
The debut television ads, featuring Golden Globe nominated Haysbert, will
premier on November 12. Haysbert is known for his current role as President
Palmer on the hit Fox series "24" and through his acclaimed role in Far From
Heaven as Raymond Deagon.
"I strive to work on projects that I believe in," said Dennis Haysbert. "It
was evident to me that the 'Our Stand' advertising campaign illustrates the
commitment that Allstate has to its customers."
"Dennis embodies the spirit of the Allstate brand. Experienced, honest and
understanding, with a sense of strength and conviction," Weaver said. "He has a
broad appeal, even with the younger consumer."
The first four "Our Stand" television spots were shot and produced by
award-winning director Sam Mendes, known for such films as Oscar winning
American Beauty and Road to Perdition.
In addition to television, the campaign will include radio, print and
Internet executions. Radio is scheduled to launch the week of November 20 and
print will launch early 2004.
The "Our Stand" campaign was created by Leo Burnett, USA, the company's
agency of record for more than four decades. The advertising budget for the new
campaign was not disclosed.
