The Future Is Now: Digital Media Point-Of-Purchase
Revolutionary Digital Media Point-Of-Purchase Solutions Available To Quick Service Restaurants This September
Jul 26, 2002/FW/ -- Coca-Cola Fountain and EMN8 (Enterprise Media Networks) announced today their
exclusive alliance to bring digital media point-of-purchase solutions to the
Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry beginning in September of this year.
The EMN8 technology enables QSR customers to place orders at futuristically
designed, point-of-purchase terminals that incorporate touch-screen ordering in
a real-time, interactive, entertaining audio and video environment.
The technology also allows consumers to conduct transactions in multiple languages,
to select multiple payment options such as cash, credit and debit, and to
receive change to the penny.

During the next 24-months, the Coca-Cola Fountain sales and marketing
organization, EMN8 and Intel will work closely together to deliver the solution
to Fountain customers. EMN8 already has a backlog of orders for the installation
of its new unattended interactive terminals where Coca-Cola is served.
"Innovation is one avenue in which Coca-Cola Fountain expands our
full-service partnership with restaurant customers," said Eric McCarthey,
Coca-Cola Fountain Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing. "The EMN8
technology will be a tremendous benefit for Coca-Cola Fountain customers and I
believe the added benefits of the EMN8 product will change the Quick Service
Restaurant experience for all consumers."
EMN8's unattended Customer Service Terminal uses the power and price /
performance of Intel architecture to give consumers an interactive, retail
experience of cinema quality. By combining self-service choice with expanded
payment options and a platform for loyalty and reward incentives, consumers will
experience retail brands in a new, powerful and personal way.
"The work EMN8 is doing with rich media at the point-of-sale will transform
the experience of customers interacting with companies like Coca-Cola" said Tom
Lacey, vice president, sales and marketing group, Intel Corporation. "We're
proud that EMN8 has chosen Intel architecture, including the Pentium 4 and Intel
Xeon processors, to facilitate this important development in the retail
industry."
"This alliance will give Coca-Cola and EMN8 a unique, sharing relationship
that will accelerate business for EMN8 and provide an enhanced value-added
service to Coca-Cola Fountain QSR customers," said Paul Monahan, chief executive
officer of EMN8.
The EMN8 automated customer service solution provides QSR owners with a
financially compelling, reliable, customer-driven ordering and payment platform
that uses engaging media to increase sales, reduce labor costs, and optimize
customer satisfaction. EMN8's proprietary solution integrates a real-time
graphics engine with an advanced, modular, standards-based, distributed
computing architecture that creates a powerful, scalable and extensible
enterprise environment.
