SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 23, 2006/ FW/ --- A utilitarian yet high-tech approach to urban bags, Chrome’s new Messenger bag takes a minimalist approach in design to give the wearer comfort and performance without sacrificing durability or aesthetics.
Chrome, a domestic bag manufacturer located in the SOMA district of San Francisco, has been producing messenger bags used by the majority of professional bicycle couriers worldwide for the past 12 years.
An anatomically correct EVA foam shoulder strap combined with a load stabilizer insures comfort and stability. The quick release seat-belt buckle closure allows for on-the-fly, one handed tightening and loosening of the shoulder strap.
Waterproofing features include an independently suspended PVC liner that eliminates seams exposed to the elements and side gussets that keep the bag sealed up when the flap is closed.
Construction consists of the most rugged assembly of industrial materials and hardware available: military specifications, seam binding, 1000d Cordura shell, 18oz, vinyl truck tarp liner, and nylon 69 thread. It is available in four sizes with price ranging from $103-$145.
To compliment the line of messenger bags chrome also designed a compatible laptop sleeve. The sleeve consists of a fully padded body with a Velcro top loaded enclosure, a grab handle and an optional shoulder strap. Sleeves are available in five sizes.
Chrome also introduced a line of urban riding clothing that consists of a 3/4 length riding knickers, a vest and a jacket. Following the design principals used in the messenger bags Chrome brings advanced fabrics that are technical as well as casual in order to meet the needs of the urban environment.
