DALLAS, Aug 4, 2004/ FW/ --- Last June, Saks Incorporated reported a 9.4% increase in comparable store sales for May, with sales of $431.3 million compared to $389.9 the same period last year.

According to the same financial report, “best sales performance were seen in women's American and European designer collections” in their 62 stores in 24 states.

Wall Street analysts might have a different interpretation of these numbers, but for visual merchandisers, the high sales figures equate to enchanting store windows that attract shoppers to go in the stores.

For May 2004, the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York featured American and European high fashion from the collections of Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake, Gucci, Michael Kors, Comme des Garcons and Behnaz Sarafpour.
