LONDON, May 19, 2005/ FW/ --- With British-born actress Keira Knightley gracing its store windows, the 200-year old Asprey (founded 1781) is undergoing a revival. Known for its silver and leather goods, crystal and rare books among others, it is has become the ‘Ultimate Authentic British Luxury Lifestyle’ brand as its owners Laurence Stroll and Silas Chou had predicted.
Keira Knightley is part of this brand re-launch, wherein the new Asprey defines this lifestyle by introducing an innovative approach to all elements of prestige products.
In addition to the timeless pieces of jewellery, silverware and leather for which Asprey is renowned, Asprey has become a complete luxury lifestyle brand by expanding its portfolio to include watches and pens, silk, china and crystal, ready-to-wear, shoes and fashion accessories.
All product categories are designed in house by a team of over 40 designers directed by Hussein Chalayan, Thierry de Baschmakoff and Alessandra Gradi.
The Asprey New Bond Street flagship store that was completely renovated to 20,000 sq ft last April 2004 featured outstanding store windows that reflect the revival of the brand.
Using bigger than life photos of Keira Knightley, the new product lines were highlighted by making them “float” on air using plexiglass as invisible shelves.
The collectible items such as crystal were put in vitrines with a bundle of twigs as props.
