DALLAS, Dec 18, 2005/ FW/ --- After a multi-million dollar renovation at the Dallas Galleria, it has become more than a shopping center. It became a scene to be seen.
Inspired by Milan’s famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele built in 1867, considered to be the first indoor shopping center in the whole world, the Galleria Dallas might have a different charm from the original, yet it has developed into a unique urban marketplace.
Voted by USA Today as "One of the Top Ten Places to Spend it All," the Galleria Dallas houses more than 200 of the most celebrated shops from around the world along with delectable restaurant and eateries located around the ice rink.
For Christmas 2005, the Galleria Dallas outdid itself by putting up a towering indoor tree (the tallest in the country!). Shimmering with dancing lights in choreographed performances set to symphonic holiday favorites, it competes for attention with the skaters on ice.
As a treat to shoppers during the holiday season, there is a daily Illumination Celebration scheduled at 12:00 NN, 2:00 PM. 4:00 PM, 6 PM and 8 PM (no 8PM shows on Sunday.)
As an added attraction, Skaters on the ice are treated to a fusion of sound and effects when a fog gently rolls from the legendary tree's base, all exclusively during Illumination Celebration.
The three is just one of the many holiday decorations in the mall. There are smaller trees scattered around. Children can visit with Santa in a specially decorated area full of lights and holiday greens.
The palm trees were also lit from top to bottom during the holiday season.
The sight and sound alone will make your stay for hours, but the true attractions are the three levels of shops in the Galleria.
