thomas_voornDALLAS, Feb 3, 2010 / — Dutch designer and art director Thomas Voorn presents 17 new Garment
Graffiti’s: colourful temporary landscape pollution, stirring up tension between draped clothing letters, statements and surroundings.

For four seasons Thomas Voorn traveled around with bags full of clothes, his alphabet, to create the new Garment Graffiti series ‘Your Name Here’ no.02.

In this second series the garments and letters are subtly pushed to their limits. Garments are thrown into a duckweed ditch, hung up as washing in a winter forest and layed out on rooftops, creating surreal confrontations with words for a passerby. At times the garment typography appears as leftovers of a person undressed, looking for friction between clothes, text and context.

Thomas Voorn developed his typography ‘The Clothing Alphabet’ in 2006, resulting in several projects and commissions: Arnhem Fashion Biennale (2009), B Store London (2008/2009), MGH2O shop (2008/2009), Margreeth Olsthoorn Shop (2008/2009), Fallon London advertising agency (2008), The Fashion Hit Next Season – series (2007) and more…

In the new Garment Graffiti series ‘Your Name Here’ no.02, Voorn winks to the fashion industry and invites Miuccia, Helmut, Calvin and others to commission him.
