DALLAS, Nov 6, 2011/ — Minx nails, the new nail fashion made popular by celebrities around the world, has made an outstanding start in Russia during Volvo Fashion Week as models wearing Minx revealed the Spring/Summer 2012 line from famed Russian designer Alexandra Serova.

Elaborate, custom Minx designs in Golden Lightning, Silver Lightning, and mixed metallic colors layered with designs in Pale Pink, Gold and Silver Blossom were applied to the models as they strutted the catwalk on October 29, 2011.

Alexandra’s new collection, “Empire Revival,” contained rich and vivid silk, lace, velvet and brocade that brought to mind delicate, detailed gowns from the Renaissance era. Hand made and one-of-a-kind, each masterpiece in this collection was manually embroidered with Swarovski crystals, beads, spangle and semiprecious stones.

Mirka Poikkeus was the leading nail stylist in this show, and said “Minx was the perfect choice for Alexandra’s collection, as the rich metallics and layering were perfect complements to the elaborate, lush creations.”

Mirka also pointed out that since each model had one or more costume changes, Minx allowed a great deal of flexibility as the coatings can be layered to change the overall look, with no drying time needed.

Mirka’s team included nails stylists Elena Alekseeva, Olga Bylinina and Anna Kirilluk, who Minxed the 15 models displaying the new collection. The violinist who opened the show with a musical score was also wearing Minx that was customized to match her Alexandra Serova dress, and the designer herself wore black Minx to the show.
