DALLAS & DUBAI, Dec 10, 2009 / FW/ — Versace shows its confidence that Dubai will get through its financial crisis unscathed with the opening of three new Versace boutiques, an impressive Versace 600 square meter flagship, a Versace fine Jewellery boutique, and a Versace Home boutique.

In a triple treat wherein three evening cocktails were held simultaneously in each venue Wednesday night, Dec 9th, at the prestigious Dubai Mall in Dubai City, UAE, with Mr. Santo Versace as guest of honor, each boutique hosted a special exhibition marking the celebrations.

The Versace flagship is to date the Maison’s largest in the Middle East. The boutique has a striking retail atmosphere that mirrors the glamour and tradition of Italian craftsmanship that make up Versace’s DNA, showcasing the latest Versace ready to wear collections for men and women; a full range of men’s and women’s accessories including the most current selection of bags, shoes, belts, and eyewear; Versace Jewellery; and a large selection of the Versace Home collection.

A specially created exhibition to mark this opening of 8 Atelier Versace dresses worn by celebrities (such as Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz and Gwyneth Paltrow) at the most important events in entertainment (such as the Oscars and the Grammy’s) was displayed throughout the store.

This unique Versace Jewellery boutique (second in the world to open after Rome), features over 200 square meters of retail space entirely dedicated to the Maison’s range of jewellery and watches.

In celebration of the opening, the boutique held an exhibit of an exclusive Versace Vintage Jewellery and Watch collection of archive pieces that show the longstanding Versace’s tradition of jewellery and watch making craftsmanship and unique standout style, throughout the years, such as a precious Versace Tiara and a selection of early Gianni Versace watches never exhibited before.

The Versace’s Home Boutique is the first to open in the Middle East. Covering over 200 square meters, the interiors reflect the Maison’s DNA and strong contemporary style with a bright and vibrant backdrop that both blends and contrasts against precious marble and crystal.

It showcases the complete interior collections under the headings Living and Dining, in a diverse series of elegant, very fashionable settings. With Versace’s strong connections to the art world, this new Home Boutique will also act and function as a gallery space for artists to exhibit their works.

To mark the opening, a first exhibition of artist Julie Verhoeven’s original precious silk prints that re-interprets the Versace’s Medusa symbol was held. Also in celebration of the evening, the boutique showcased an iconic display of Versace Art de la Table Masterpieces.
