NEW YORK, Feb 10, 2013/FW/ — “To infinity and beyond” was exactly what Rebecca Minkoff’s 2013 fall collection delivered. The inspiration for this collection was taken from Neil Armstrong’s space travel, which is seen in the variety of shapes, silhouettes and material that were used – all of which went perfectly with the live set of Wild Cub.
Minkoff’s main fashion statement was leather. Knowing her Minkettes are true sexy tomboys at heart, she kept elements such as leather detailing and bomber jackets in the mix, while adding space-like twists with quilting and holographic accessories and shoes.
Wide collars on sheer chiffon blouses, tweed jackets and coats were also another distinctive appearance that was made. Popped collars paired with skirts and dresses added a masculine touch, while neatly pressed down showed the more girly-meets-tomboy style Rebecca Minkoff is best known for.
The designer knows her customers well, never loosing sight of her Minkettes while creating a new collection. Minkoff also gave her customers instant gratification by giving them the opportunity to buy pieces straight off the runway on her website. Without a doubt she is sure to keep her loyal Minkettes satisfied and expand her fan base in future seasons to come.
