NEW YORK, Feb 5, 2012/ — Young handbag designer Laura Vela had been selected to be one of the select group of upcoming designers to be part of the Accessories Exhibit at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012 season.
After brief stints at Prada and Chanel, Laura Vela decided to go off on her own pursue her eponymous handbag line. Now, at age 25, her designs have been capturing the attention of international celebrities and models like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sabine Le Marchand and Paula Echevarria.
The Fall/Winter 2012 collection of Laura Vela was inspired by her time in Barcelona. The structured shapes and clean lines, combined with earth hues and pop jewel tones express a period when she was determining her path in life.
