It is hard not to admire Leila Shams. Very few among us can openly accept our mistakes and disappointments. Leila Shams on the other hand did the exact opposite. She proclaimed her failures, owned it and then reemerges with the determination to prevail.
Like turning lemons into lemonade, the Parsons alum creatively channeled her series of bad luck into her designs.
Known for her upbeat designs with edgy glamour, Leila Shams designs are never boring or minimalistic.
Meant for the woman who wants to get noticed, the Fall 2014 collection runs true to form beginning with Shams’ signature beaded pieces as seen in floor grazing lengths with maxi skirts and baggy trousers.
As always, Leila takes a literal approach to her expressive prints. From the coiled snake’s constraint to the freed bird’s wingspan, this collection displays her recent trials and tribulations.
Notable silhouettes include high collars and necklines meant to shield the face from public scrutiny. The collection’s standout styles are the sequined track pants, oversized turtleneck sweaters and winged mini dresses.
Leila Shams’ Fall / Winter 2014 collection will be available on her e-commerce site as well as select specialty boutiques worldwide in early Fall 2014.
