NEW YORK, Feb 3, 2008 / FW/ — As announced, Emmy-award winner costume designer Patricia Field will dress and style mannequins for each of the main characters of ‘Sex & The City’ – Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, all four of them will be on display at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge for the duration of fashion week.
Unknown to many, Patricia Field (photo left) is also a great visual merchandiser. She had dressed windows and styled mannequins in New York. She had also styled mannequins for presentations at showrooms during Market Week.
Hence, watching Patricia Field work, turning lifeless plexiglass bodies into something glamorous and vibrant is like seeing magic. Choosing the clothes first, Patricia Field then chose the accessories from sunglasses to shoes to belts that will go with the outfit.
The hair is done last. Wigs, which were pre-styled, to be the same as the way Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte wear their hair were used. Final styling was done on site.
