Dolce & Gabbana in Milan

Opening in the bustling city of Milan, this exhibit is the first of its kind. Never before have Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana shown their clothing and designs side-by-side with pieces of art.

The Palazzo Reale, the neoclassical building where the exhibit takes place, previously housed other rich and cultured art. With so much historical and geographical beauty to draw from, these pieces are sure to fascinate.

Love of Italy

Driven by their need to show the world the skill of working by hand combined with the traditions of Italy, Dolce & Gabbana set out to make ‘From the Heart to the Hands.’ They cite taking inspiration from everything from the opera to the theatre of their home country. The legacy of Italy is particularly interesting to them and continues to fuel their world-renowned designs throughout the years.

Alta Moda

One of the most significant parts of this exhibit includes a detailed look at Dolce and Gabbana’s upscale and unique Alta Moda fashion. With a focus on a variety of subjects over the years and designs that look pleasing to the eye, these handmade pieces of clothing all tell a story. Between the bold colors and awe-inspiring details, this line continues to delight.

Stunning Views and Art

Dolce & Gabbana will also feature visual art made by a variety of skilled individuals. These pieces of art complement the fashion around them, showcasing just how ethereal well-made clothing can be.

Those who attend will quickly notice the stunning outfits on display in elegant and stately poses. Towering chandeliers and the finely made architecture of the Palazzo Reale lend themselves to creating an exhibit that feels like a trip to a world of fashion.

Love for Craftsmanship

One strong emotion that runs through the entire exhibit is a feeling of care and attention for the making of each fashion item. Dolce and Gabbana take pride in showcasing the workers behind their fashion, with tailors and seamstresses front and center for this particular exhibit. Italian craftsmanship is on full display here, helping everyone to understand the passion Dolce & Gabbana has for creating fashion.

Another aspect of these designs is Fatto a Mano, which roughly translates to ‘handmade.’ With the celebration of the hard work designers put into Dolce and Gabbana’s legacy, this ties neatly into the theme of the exhibit.

Care and Love for Dolce & Gabbana History

‘From the Heart to the Hands’ gets its name from the idea that handmade clothing first starts with an idea from the heart. Dolce & Gabbana has this thought in mind throughout this exhibit as each room brings extraordinary handcrafted fashion to the public.
