LOS ANGELES, Jan 15, 2008 / FW/ — For those whose New Year’s resolution include losing some weight for health reasons, follow Glenn Close’s example and drink some milk. The Golden Globe winning actress is kicking off “Why Milk?” new initiative, “The Campaign for Healthy Weight” with an ad wherein Close wears a milk mustache.
The new campaign encourages women to forgo fad diets and focus on simple, lifelong changes to promote health and weight management. With the American audience being bombarded 24×7 by TV ads, including spam emails on their mailboxes promising ‘losing weight has never been this easy,’ a healthy approach to weight loss is the way keep off those unwanted pounds.
And although it is like preaching to the choir, milk truly is a healthy drink recommended for all age groups from newborn babies to adults.
For Glenn Close, who has a hectic lifestyle (actress, producer, mother), she needs her energy. She knows that drinking three glasses of lowfat or fat free milk everyday combined with staying active and maintaining a healthy diet will help her stay fit, lean and looking her best.
“The Campaign for Healthy Weight” ad copy reads, “Look Close. To perform my best, I need to give my body the attention it deserves. That’s why I eat right, exercise and drink milk. Studies suggest the nutrients in 3 glasses of lowfat or fat free milk a day can help you maintain a healthy weight. And the protein helps build muscle for a lean body. You’ll see.”
