LAS VEGAS, Oct 11, 2012/ — Madame Tussauds Las Vegas unveiled a wax figure of pop superstar Madonna just 48 hours before two sold-out shows on the Strip.

Specially created for the Las Vegas location of Madame Tussauds, the figure’s costume was inspired by the pop star’s 2012 Super Bowl performance. The headdress was fashioned by famous London designer Philip Treacy, whose work has been worn in “Sex and the City,” the “Harry Potter” movies, and at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

On Oct. 13-14, the Madonna 2012 World Tour will make a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for two sold-out shows. The tour will include stops in 26 European cities and 28 North American shows.

Throughout her career, Madonna has had a record-breaking 37 Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles Chart along with 40 No. 1s on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Song Charts. She has sold more than 300 million albums and holds the record for the most successful tour by a solo artist in history.
