Drawing upon themes of architecture and giving homage to the beauty and power in simple materials, Hernan Lander’s Fall / Winter 2014 collection boasts a rich palette of structured forms that both flatter and intrigue.
Hand-developed prints enliven the dimensional collection: mirrored white geometric shapes web over wide pants and snug blazers; earthen-hued triangles scatter across a cropped puffy silk top, a stylized cracked desert land.
Lander’s affinity for traditional menswear — particularly the waistcoat, nipped deftly at the waist, swelling gently over the hips — has quickly become a Lander signature, and offers sleek contrast to the peek-a-boo gown cutaways and low scooped backs of the flirty, wool dresses dotted throughout the line.
