For A/W 09, Dutch-born designer, Michael van der Ham, captivated London Fashion Week with his Warhol inspired composite dresses. Credited as “a perfectly executed refreshing new idea” by Dolly Jones on Vogue.co.uk, Van der Ham favours in-depth research which leads to his unusual collaged approach to design.

The collection, which won the L’Oreal Professional Award, blurs the boundaries between a conceptual statement and obvious sexual expression, which together present a look that encompasses both vintage qualities with a tough modernity. Van der Ham refined his craft with a number of invaluable internships.
Beginning in New York with avant garde favourite, As Four, Michael then moved to London to complete intensive stints at Alexander McQueen and Sophia Kokosalaki in London, before joining the renowned Central Saint Martins MA course. This led to him opening the Central Saint Martins graduate catwalk show on the official LFW schedule.

An American anglophile who studied English Literature before turning to fashion, Natascha Stolle came to London in 1999. Working for Peter Jensen for ten seasons, Stolle graduated from the Central Saint Martins MA before showing with Fashion East for two seasons.

Stolle has also designed two capsule collections for ASOS (the first will be online in November) as well as designing the Autumn/Winter10 womenswear range for the B Store’s in house label which will be shown in February as part of LFW.

Stolle will also present her own line collection and NEWGEN exhibition stand for LFW the same week. Stolle has also won the Fashion East Design Award in which she is awarded a new and state-of-the-art website built by the renowned web designers at REHAB Studio.

Stolle’s style is a compelling mix of slouchy separates, back-woods Appalachia Americana, and the glamour of her mother’s Honolulu wardrobe. Her witty approach to textiles, LOL accessories, and fluid tailoring come directly form her own first experiments in dressing which continue to inspire her signature mix of aspirational luxury with a teenage sexuality.
