PORTLAND, Ore., Sep 2, 2011 – Portland Fashion Week announces a stellar lineup for its Spring/Summer 2012 Collections runway shows with some of the most exciting designers in the country. From Project Runway all-stars and winners to world-known eco-sustainable designers, an extraordinary array of designers will debut their collections at the city’s spectacular Vigor Industrial Shipyard from Oct 5-8.
Some of the most popular designers in the history of the Project Runway TV show will turn the eyes of the fashion-world to focus on Portland. Michael Costello from the All-star show, Seth Aaron(winner of Season 7), alum Jay Sario, as well as a designer from the currently airing season, will be showing never-before-seen collections for the world to see.
Anna Cohen, whose eco-sustainable high-fashion collections have been adorning the pages of global fashion media — the cover of WWD, Vogue, Book Moda, will launch two lines designed by her. Ethos Paris and Lenzanita are two other widely know eco-fashion collections returning to Portland Fashion Week.
Portland, the active-wear capital of the US, will demonstrate its prowess in different athletic segments on the native runway, showing the leading trends in the industry. Adidas, Earthtec (outdoor), RYU (martial arts), Grenade (skate-board) each is poised to put on a show with surprising elements.
Portland’s wildly popular RTW labels, Amai Unmei, Ms. Wood, Collier and Stephanie D Couture will continue their strong presence on the runway while the widely anticipated Catapult, The Emerging Designers Award will crown the best emerging designer of 2011.
Designers will be attending the PFW Market on Oct 9, at PFW City Center in Benson Hotel, for meeting buyers and taking orders.
