In his press notes, Wes Gordon said:
I wanted to focus this collection on streamlined, feminine silhouettes done in beautiful textures and materials. For Resort, I focused on a crisp 90’s elegance, a la Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and I sought to evolve and expand upon that idea for spring while keeping it fresh and modern.
Spring 2014 focuses on creating decadent surfaces and depth via layers of laces, tulles, and crinkle chiffons. With a palette of dusty rose, copper, light butter, soft gray, ivory and celadon, I let the combination of textures and fabrics replace my “print” for the season. I will also be continuing my collaboration with Manolo Blahnik for this season.
