NEW YORK, Feb 15, 2015/ — Inspired by the joy of flight, Tadashi Shoji proposes ethereal silhouettes that are fluid and flowing evoking majestic birds in flight for Fall 2015.
And, it’s not just the birds; airplanes were also referenced via the metallic shades of black and silver used in the gowns and dresses.
Every piece is lovely, even red carpet ready. Yet, it’s not just the beauty that catches your eyes. Amidst that feeling of weightlessness is the clever use of texture.
Organza and hand-cut tulle create lighter than gowns and floor-length capes while custom-designed jacquards and silver burnish luxe knits provide texture.
With the Oscars coming, it will not be surprising if some of these gowns are seen on the red carpet though they are still 6 months away from the proper season.
